Not Demonstrated

Evidence does not demonstrate
efforts towards classroom organization and student engagement
Teachers
follow only the traditional whole-class instruction method. No group tasks
are organized. Class monitors, if any, only follow instructions given by
teachers, rather than being made responsible and aware of their duties.
Students are barely engaged in the classroom instruction.

Developing
|
Classroom organization and student engagement is at a very basic level
Group and individual tasks are few and rare, no evidence of
challenging assignments and those with clearly-set outcomes. Students have
been assigned responsibilities to make them responsible and aware of
their duties, but responsibilities are only related
to discipline maintenance and distribution/collection of notebooks.

Teachers have made some
attempts to create a satisfactory classroom
organization and student engagement
Teachers
make sure to vary academic and social arrangement of students within the
classrooms. Students have been assigned routine class responsibilities in
monthly rotation, and are inducted in responsibilities through class SOPs. But
there is no accountability and student leadership. There is a
need for a good balance of whole class
instruction/individual student work/homogeneous or heterogeneous groups,
ability grouping and cooperative learning, and delegation of class
responsibilities to students for longer periods.

Classroom organization and student
engagement is of a high order
Student
feedback and class observation records are very positive. Students are
engaged to the maximum in class activities, academic arrangement and grouping
of students is done on the basis of the nature and complexity of learning
tasks. Students are given term-wise responsibilities for maintenance and
safe-keeping of TLM, writing aids, class library, cleanliness, submissions,
distributions and collections. Accountability of students is encouraged and
student leadership is promoted. Student engagement with variety of approaches
and high task orientation reflected in clearly defined time-bound goals and targets
is demonstrated.Teachers continually
reflect upon their class organization and student engagement practices, and
revise them taking into consideration the needs of students, student
achievement level, developments in educational sector, innovative teaching
practices of colleagues, feedback from head, teachers, parents and students, etc.

Teachers’ organization and student engagement is exceptional
Teachers use technology-supported systems to plan, implement,
monitor effectiveness, and continuously improvise upon the class organization
and student engagement practices. Students demonstrate high level of energy
and happiness
in class, with exceptional engagement level. Teacher(s)
have successfully showcased their innovative class organization and student
engagement practices to peers, and also at broader platforms like state
policy making committees/advisory councils, etc.
